The Sankofa Foundation was organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The Sankofa Foundation’s mission is to support the underserved youth in the Dallas Metropolitan Area through delivery of high-quality mentoring and outreach initiatives. The Sankofa Foundation has a separate and independent Board of Directors from the Chapter Officers of Xi Tau Lambda, as required by state and federal laws governing non-profit entities.
Members of Xi Tau Lambda Chapter, in good standing, are eligible to serve as Board members of the Sankofa Foundation. We are seeking Member(s) with a proven track record of service to the Fraternity and to Xi Tau Lambda Chapter in particular. Implementation of fundraising strategies is the primary focus of the Foundation’s Board. Therefore, the Board is particularly interested in Members with strong marketing and business management skill sets that also have contacts within various corporations that can be leveraged during the Board’s fundraising activities.
